On behalf of the Program Committee for the 2010 NYSACAC’s Annual Spring Conference, we are excited to serve as your co-chairs.  We would like to develop a program that will provide opportunities for educational and professional growth.  The Program Committee is very eager to get to work, and would love your input and ideas!

This year’s Conference, Serving Today to Lead Tomorrow, will be held on the beautiful campus of Niagara University. Using the link above, please share your ideas for the Committee to explore and/or a workshop that you’ve developed.  Keep in mind, you might want to offer new solutions to issues and concerns in higher education, secondary education or at the community based organizational level.

In preparing your panel presentation, and in an effort to provide a variety of perspectives, you may want to consider involving your colleagues in both secondary and post-secondary institutions. Professional presentations provide an opportunity to share results of a research project or to explore new concepts with one’s colleagues.  Panels provide an opportunity to examine specific concerns by a small group of experts and allow for lively discussion of different points of view.  Be sure to indicate the audience your workshop/panel will address, for example, Secondary School Counselors, Community Based Organizations, Post-Secondary Admission Counselors & Administrators, and/or Independent Counselors.

Please return the workshop proposal form by December 21st, 2009.  All proposals will be reviewed by the Program Committee and you will receive notification of the status of your proposal in January 2010.

If you have questions or concerns, please feel free to contact us.  We look forward to receiving many workshop proposals as we prepare for this year’s NYSACAC Conference!
